Googleable
With the Web and Google it is common for employers to try a quick search on potential people on Google and other search engines. The reason for such a check can be to make sure the information and references are correct, but also see if the person is presentable.

Make sure what comes up is presentable.
Blogs:
If you have a personal bl0g it is important to only write things that you find have a certain standard and can be presentable for a future employer. You have no control of who will read it once it is out there.
Pictures:
Many people like to publish personal pictures, and party pictures. Do you make the best impression when you are drunk and possibly half naked?

1. Check your own information, and make sure it is as presentable as you would like.
2. If one absolutely has to publish embarrassing information and pictures, do not associate your and your friends full name with it. Example on the text or on the text next to pictures, and in filenames on pictures.
3. Ask your friends to remove pictures and text that you don’t like on web pages that are not your own.
