Be a Stayer and a True Optimist
This applies to all aspects of life or business; if nobody can break your belief you will have an advantage. If one keeps working for a goal and just keeps going forward even if things looks grim one have a much better chance of succeeding. Endurance and perseverance are keys for the long term success.
The worst thing is if you have to always have to run with the wind in your back. If you only can do business and deals when things looks promising and there are no trouble ahead.
When the though times suddenly goes away you will have a great advantage when you have been working towards that goal all the time during the though times. In stock investments this is being able to buy and hold positions when the market is going south and the future looks grim for whatever reason. When the sky clears it often shows one can be happy when not selling out at the bottom. When running a business you have been able to make the business more solid and perhaps gained on your competitors when they have been thinking about quitting.
Optimists are often associated with being dumb; you have to believe and be skeptical. If it makes rational sense whatever one is doing it is no reason for not being optimistic.
