Boogleheads.
There’s a new book out called “The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing”. It is written by the followers of Former Vanguard head John Bogle strategies and values.

The net worth mentality
Here’s a sampling of some of the ideals and values the authors include:

  1. Quote: “Start right. The authors recommend that readers “graduate from the paycheck mentality to the net worth mentality.” Bravo! Once you really understand the bottom line, it’s easy to reason that $1 in investment income is at least as good as $1 earned on the job. Or that $1 of debt paid down is as good as $1 in the bank. It’s a big picture that will serve anyone well.”
  2. Know what you’re buying. Many investors have been flimflammed into paying ridiculous fees for a bad product, simply because they didn’t want to admit that they didn’t understand the salesman’s pitch. This book takes readers through the basics of stocks, bonds and funds in a way that is very easy to understand. Here’s a tip: If the person talking up an investment tells you that it’s too complicated for you to comprehend, just walk.
