Long term Investing takes little effort, Trading requires a lot of Time and Attention
Posted by Jon under The long term BullLong term investing do not require a lot of attention on a day to day basis
One of the great strengths of being a long term investor is that you can spend your time on other things than the market.
For the person that is a full time investor this makes time for golf and yachting. For a person that is not quite there yet it makes it possible to focus on other projects or working.
Any type of Trading activity requires time
All types of Trading/Speculation require a person’s full attention. These types of activities often require monitoring the position or spot a potential deal.
Try to concentrate about your golf game when you know the market is on. It will be on your mind, and possible feelings such as worry may also be lurking in the back of the head.
Being confident and not required to do anything or check any quotes is the ultimate benefit of being a solid long term investor. Why would anybody choose the stress and time consuming activities around speculation?
