Bonus Time in the Skagen Mutual Fund
The Norwegian Mutual Fund company Skagen is paying out bonuses for a successful year. Everybody that is working in this company gets their bonus. Even the secretary answering phones.
The Bonus is 1.000.000 Norwegian Krones, approximately $153.000 USD. Everybody is happy of course.
Human Capital
One of the directors comments the bonuses: Skagen whises to keep their “human capital”. Therefor it is important that the employees feels that they are a part of the results that is created. Jada jada.
Picking the pockets
Where does this money come from? It is the pockets of the people that have bought into this mutual fund that is getting picked. If I had money in this fund I would have cried a bit, then sold everything.
I can bet a couple of thousands of dollars that this mutual fund will worse over the next 5 years than just picking the biggest stocks on Oslo Børs.
