Google is only involved the first time you use a spesific key word, the other times it is loaded from you local database. There will be two HTTP requests to Google the first time a keyword is used. One for obtaining the html in the image search and one for downloading the image. What Google does if they decides you are performing automated queries is unknown, it could be banning of the servers that the traffic is coming from. To summarize: use it at your own risk, there are no guarantees.
