Dead cat bounce

A dead cat bounce is when there is a short recovery from a decline in the economy or in the price of a stock. After the short recovery it usually falls back down. When you drop something that is not bouncy from a high enough place there is a little bounce when it hits the ground. Even a dead cat will bounce if dropped from high enough.
